Recently, PlayStation has introduced a new perk for its UK PlayStation Plus subscribers which is basically a 5% discount on eligible purchases made via PlayStation Direct (direct.playstation.com). This benefit is the part of a trial program and is now available to 'PS Plus members' when they are signed in with their "PSN" account on the 'PlayStation Direct' site. This offer applies to a variety of products sold through the official store. However, there are important caveats: pre-orders and Flex leasing plans are explicitly excluded. When checked out, the discount is automatically applied, making it easy for eligible users to take advantage without hunting for a code.
According to Sony, the promotion is not permanent, it is "limited trial basis" and current documentation also shows it will run until 31 March 2027 and provided terms don’t change as well. Users should remember that, this offer is only for "PlayStation Plus members" — specifically, users who have an active "PS Plus subscription" under a 'PSN' account registered in the "United Kingdom", and to get benefited from this offer, you must be signed in to direct.playstation.com with your PS Plus-registered account at the time of purchase. If you became a PS Plus member after logging in, you may need to sign out and then sign back in so your status reflects correctly and the discount will apply.
Additionally, for PS Plus members who add a console to their cart alongside another item, PlayStation Direct provides a great offer for express delivery at no extra cost for the console. It's a huge benefit for PS Plus members and a next level bonus in this perk. However, cancelling your 'PS Plus subscription' could remove future access to the discount, and people who have this subscription already should remember that, not all products are eligible for this trial offer. Since the offer is for personal, non-commercial use, resellers or bulk buyers might be flagged, and Sony reserves the right to revoke the offer for misuse.
